The Department of Finance and Accounts is made up of two main divisions namely Budget and Accounts.

The main function of this department is to appropriate from government the maximum funds possible so that the Ministry’s day-to-day operations can be smooth. The Ministry also makes remittances to foreign bodies to which the country has obligations of financial contributions through the Department. These include the international Labour Organization (ILO), the African Regional Labour Administration Centre (ARLAC) and the upkeep and maintenance of the Geneva Office. The main function of the Department is the judicious disbursement of funds and maintaining appropriate accounting records disbursed funds approved by the appropriate authorities. The Department is composed of the Central Pay Office (CPO), Expenditure, Salary Sub-Accounts, checking, Funds, Final Accounts and the Reconciliation Sections.
