Mrs Lauraetta Nneka Adogu was born on  28th July, 1965 to the family of late Mr. and Mrs. Christopher and Evelyn Obianika of Ihulu village in Anaocha Local Government of Anambra State.

She attended Agai Primary School Fegge, Onitsha from 1972 to 1977, Federal Government Girls College (1978-1983). She had her higher education at Anambra State University of Technology (1983-1988) where she obtained a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Industrial Chemistry. She also obtained a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Administration (2007-2009) and Master’s Degree in Pure and Industrial Chemistry (2009-2011), both in Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Anambra State.

She did her National Youth Service Corps at College of Education, Agbor (1988-1989) and later joined the Federal Civil Service in December 1993 as Inspector of Factories 1 on Grade level 09 and rose through the rank to the post of Director (Inspector of Factories). She started her career in Lagos and was later posted to Anambra State Office of the Federal Ministry of Labour and Employment in 1995 and thereafter redeployed to Imo State Office of the Ministry (2012-2019) as the State Controller. In May 2019, she was finally posted to Abuja headquarters office where she became the Director of Factories of the Federation and Director Occupational Safety and Health Department of the Ministry.

Mrs. Adogu has over the years acquired experience and knowledge in areas of safety and health and championed the development of policies, guidelines and other legislations as well as enforcement and implementation of these instruments, hence, was awarded Safer Ambassador by World Safety Organization and “Fellow” of Institute of Safety Professionals of Nigeria (ISPON).

She has attended many local and international courses and conferences.

She got married to Mr. Walter Adogu of Uffa Village, Aguluzigbo, Anaocha L.GA. of Anambra State in 1992. She is blessed with children and various relatives.
