The Ministry has focused on building a vibrant and purposeful workforce equipped to handle the task of facilitating the emergency of a productive and responsive labour sector for the country.
The Human Resource Department is charged with the statutory responsibility for staff development and welfare. The Department strongly believes in restoring labour governance through knowledge gathering and exchanges within the Ministry and among Social Partners. In spite of the rigours of bureaucracy, it has managed to engage officers from all its offices across the country into programmes that are aimed at developing and advancing existing practices and standards of the Ministry. The Department ensures that staff are trained in the relevant fields to carry out the mandate of the Ministry more efficiently. In this respect, several training programmes are organized some within the country and others abroad.
