President Mohammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of Mallam Abubakar Nuhu Fikpo, as the substantive Director General of the National Directorate of Employment.
According to the Honourable Minister of State, Federal Ministry of Labour and Employment, Festus Keyamo SAN, the appointment is made in pursuant to section 6 of the National Directorate of Employment Act.
Mallam Fikpo, whose appointment takes effect from 18th May, 2021 is to hold Office for a period of 4 years in the first instance as stipulated in section 3(5) of the Act, subject to re-appointment by Mr President in further recommendation by the Minister.
Also, in a communication from the Chief of Staff to the President, Professor Ibrahim A. Gambari to the Honourable Minister of Labour and Employment, the President also approved the appointment of Comrade Issa Aremu as the Substantive Director, National Institute for Labour Studies with effect from 18th May, 2021.
The appointment is made in pursuant to section 8 of the National Institute for Labour Studies Act and is for a period of 4 years in the first instance as stipulated in section 3(2) of the Act subject to re-appointment by Mr President in further recommendation by the Minister.
