CENTENARY CELEBRATION OF THE INTERNATIONAL LABOUR ORGANISATION (ILO) AND 60 YEARS OF THE ILO ANNIVERSARY IN NIGERIA

he Honourable Minister of Labour and Employment, Senator Chris Nwabueze Ngige, OON, MD, and the Honourable Minister of State, Professor Stephen I. Ocheni, FCNA, FCTI, on behalf of management and staff of the Federal Ministry of Labour and Employment, its Parastatals and all stakeholders wish to felicitate with the International Labour Organisation on the occasion of its centenary celebration and 60 years anniversary in Nigeria.

The existence of ILO in the past century and the unflinching commitment to its mandate of promoting Tripartism, Social Justice, Fundamental Principles and Right to Work and Decent Employment, globally and Nigeria in particular is proof that it is a very important organ of the United Nations Organisation.

We in Nigeria therefore are proud to share in the joy of the ILO on this special occasion of celebrating its chequered history and lofty achievements in the world of work in Nigeria.

I wish ILO many more years of mutually beneficial collaboration with Nigeria.
